Day 1 Arrival in Yangon & Shwedagon Experience          (-/-/-)

Welcome to Myanmar! Upon arrival at Yangon International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by your local English-speaking guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in. After some time to relax and freshen up, begin your introduction to the city with a visit to Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda, home to an impressive reclining Buddha image. 

Continue to Kandawgyi Lake, a scenic spot offering peaceful surroundings and one of the best views of the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda rising in the distance. Later, visit the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda, Myanmar’s most sacred Buddhist site and one of the most awe-inspiring monuments in Southeast Asia. As the golden stupa glows in the changing light of the day, experience the spiritual atmosphere as local devotees gather for prayers and offerings.

Day 2 Thanlyin Excursion & Local Life               (B/L/-)

After breakfast, travel to Thanlyin (formerly Syriam), located approximately 25 kilometers south of Yangon. Once an important international trading port in the 17th century, Thanlyin offers a fascinating glimpse into Myanmar’s colonial past. 

Begin your visit at the local market, where you can observe daily life and explore colorful stalls filled with fresh produce and local goods. Continue to Kyaik Khauk Pagoda, an elegant golden stupa overlooking the surrounding landscape. Afterward, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. 

In the afternoon, visit the historic Herz Jesu Church, dating back to the 18th century, reflecting the area’s colonial heritage. On the return journey to Yangon, pass through small villages where you can observe simple rural lifestyles and traditional ways of living.

Day 3 Bago Ancient Capital Discovery              (B/L/-)

After breakfast, set out on a scenic drive to Bago, an ancient Mon capital located about 80 kilometers northeast of Yangon. Along the way, enjoy views of the countryside and rural landscapes. 

Upon arrival, visit the lively Bago Market to experience local culture and daily commerce. Continue to Kyaikpun Pagoda, home to four impressive seated Buddha images facing in different directions. Then visit Kha Khat Wain Monastery, where you will observe the daily life of monks, including the midday meal offering ceremony. 

Explore the magnificent Shwemawdaw Pagoda, one of Myanmar’s tallest and most revered pagodas. Continue to Shwethalyaung Pagoda, famous for its enormous reclining Buddha image dating back to the 15th century. 

After lunch at a local restaurant, visit Hintha Gon Pagoda, offering panoramic views over Bago and excellent photo opportunities of the surrounding temples. Nearby, discover a traditional Nat shrine, where local people make offerings to spiritual guardians, reflecting Myanmar’s unique blend of animist and Buddhist beliefs.

Return to Yangon in the late afternoon.
