Day 1: Arrival Yangon (-,L,D)

Welcome upon arrival at Yangon International Airport and transfer to your hotel in the city. Today, you will retain much of its former charm despite recent modern developments and a growing population of over seven million people. Start the day with a visit to the Sule Pagode, a 2000-year-old golden temple in the heart of the city. Continue past Mahabandoola Park filled with locals going about their daily activities before going for a stroll through downtown Yangon with its faded colonial atmosphere. Visit the its 70m (230ft) Reclining Buddha. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Later this afternoon, take a break the Bogyoke Market (closed on Monday and public holidays). End the day with a visit to the magnificent Shwedagone Pagoda is one of Myanmar’s most sacred places of worship. The pagoda features a 99m (325ft) high golden stupa and several gilded spires adorned with 7,000 diamonds, sapphires and rubies. Back to hotel and have dinner.

Day 2: Yangon - Bagan by flight (B,L,D)

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport and fly to Bagan by morning flight. Upon arrival at Nyaung-U airport, after clearing all customs procedures, transfer to your hotel to check in. Start the sightseeing at Shwezigon Pagoda, the huge gold-plated pagoda built by King Anawrahta in the 11th century as the most impressive monument of Bagan, one of the most important pilgrimage sites for the Buddhists. Proceed to Htilominlo Temple, the last Myanmar-style temple in Bagan, decorated with glazed sandstone tiles in green and yellow. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, take some time for the daybreak at your hotel. In the evening, we’ll visit Ananda Temple- you’ll discover one of the most surviving a whitewashed masterpiece of the Mon architecture with four standing Buddha images, the adjacent red brick monastery, and its high walls preserved 18th-century murals. Next to Thatbyinnyu Temple are two primary stories also known as temples of omniscience. End the day with a sunset view from the scenic hill on the ancient site before heading to a local restaurant for dinner.

Day 3: Excursion to Mt. Popa (B,L,D)

Described by Marco Polo as “One of the finest sights in the world”, the ancient city of Bagan was the capital of several ancient Burmese Kingdoms that built up to 4,400 temples between the 11th and 13th centuries. Take to the skies with Balloons Over Bagan for a breathtaking bird’s eye view of the approximately 2,200 temples that remain standing in Bagan. The sunrise flight will take about three hours in total, including balloon preparation time. Champagne and breakfast are served during the morning flight.

After breakfast at the hotel, depart Bagan on a 1.5-hour drive to Mount Popa, an extinct volcano considered the sacred home of the spirits. Along the way, visit a palm village to gain insight into how palm sugar(jaggery) is produced. Continue to Taung Kalat Temple, home to the 37 Nats ( Spirits) of Myanmar, which are displayed at the base of the mountain. There is the option to climb 777 steps to the top of Toung Kalat. Relax at the terrace of Popa Mountain Resort and enjoy the best view of Taung Kalat Temple.

Today, you will enjoy lunch at Popa Mountain Resort while enjoying the scenic views of the Taungkalat in the distance.
Back to Bagan. Alternatively, you may prefer a traditional Burmese lunch that will be served under shade of the toddy palm trees of a local village en-route, what a great chance to experience the local life besides a memorable meal!).

Day 4: Bagan to Mandalay by Flight (B,L,D)

Today, you will fly to Mandalay. Upon arrival, start sightseeing around Mandalay, the old royal capital of Myanmar. First, visit Mahamuni Pagoda with its spectacular Buddha image (13ft- tall seated Buddha), the most revered Buddha image in Mandalay. Discover the gold leaf workshops, a great place where the visitors can witness the entire process of making gold leaf and then we will stop at a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch, we will visit Shwe Nan Daw Monastery (Golden Palace Monastery) in teak wood standing to witness the durability of teak and the carving of the 19th century is still with its ancient mystical beauty and traditional Myanmar Style. Tour continues to Atumashi Monastery, Kuthodaw Pagoda, commonly known as the world’s largest book because of 729 marble slabs of Buddhist scriptures erected around the pagoda. Afterward, go to the top of Mandalay Hill, a vantage point for a panoramic view of the city and a spectacular sunset view. It is worth having a stroll up the hill and enjoying panoramic views from a different location. Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 5: Mandalay and Amarapura (B,L,D)

After breakfast at your hotel, visit Mandalay’s famous craft man workshops such as wood curving, stone curving, and gold and silver embroidery workshops. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant en-route. Later this afternoon, drive to Amarapura to enjoy the sunset, U Bain Bridge to take a rowing boat on Taung Tha Man Lake (depending on the water level on your visit). Enjoy a fantastic view of the sun setting over the lake and you will have the best photo opportunities. Afterwards, transfer back to your hotel in Mandalay.

Day 6: Mandalay - Heho – Pindaya (B,L,D)

Upon arrival at Heho airport, after you have cleared all customs procedures proceed to exit gate. Drive along scenic roads to Pindaya, a small quiet town surrounded by magnificent banyan trees perched on the bank of Botoloke Lake. This small town is renowned for its limestone caves. Pindaya Caves is a Buddhist pilgrimage site that houses thousands of Buddha image. While there are three caves on the north-to-south ridge, only the southern cave can be entered and explored. Walk along a well-worn path that leads approximately 150m (490ft) to the back of the cave, where pilgrims have left about 8000 Buddha statues with the earliest statues dating back to the mid-18th century. After lunch at a local restaurant, proceed by road to Nyaung Shwe (90 km – 2½ h) and continue to your hotel for check-in.

Day 7: Inlay - Indein (B,L,D)

Have your breakfast at the Hotel, and start the tour around 8am. First visit the rural bustling so called five-day market, because the date of this special market is set by the local minority groups and the location changes every five days (availability depending on your travel date). Visit the market and observe locals and several minority groups wearing traditional costumes trading in animals and farm produce including vegetables, fruits, and dried tea leaves. The vibrant atmosphere makes it a memorable, lively experience.

Continue to visit the Indein pagoda complex located on the western bank of the Lake. Built in the 17th to 18th centuries, there are nearly 1000 stupas and pagodas in the area including Shwe In Dein Paya, situated on top of hill believed to house an auspicious Buddha image built by King Asoka. Below the pagodas around the hill are clusters of hundreds of ancient stupa ruins, some overgrown with vegetation.

After lunch at a local restaurant, continue the trip with a visit to the cigar, silverware, and goldsmith workshops. Then visit the village of Heya Ywama and observe traditional craft workshops such as cloth weaving on a wooden loom and the weaving of lotus flowers and blacksmith shops. On the way back to your Hotel, Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda, visit the most venerable pagoda on the lake that houses 5 fully gilded Buddha images. On your journey through the floating gardens and villages, of course, you will be surprised by the exclusive leg rowers of this lake – the people of Intha, rowing with one leg wrapped around the oar. Enjoy your Dinner at the hotel.

Day 8: Heho - Yangon by flight and Yangon Departure (B,-,-)

After breakfast, in the early morning Check-out from the Hotel and transfer to Yangon International Airport for the flight to your next destination. Bid farewell to your local guide and departure.
